Maths can be very stressful but my experience in my last maths course, I learnt how to manage my maths anxiety I have learnt to ask myself what state of mine I am in at that present time.
The Teacher taught about the growth model red ,orange or green, been In the GREEN ZONE it is very good but you are not learning anything new , Its very nice and comfortable there but progression needs to go on .
In the ORANGE ZONE is also very good because you are learning something new and that is progression.
RED ZONE Its very important to know when you are in red zone, at most times I feel stress, anxious, my brain feel blocked, I start thinking every one else in the class gets it except me, at that point as the teacher taught try to relax ,and breath,, step out if I have to ,or if I am at home ,stop and go and do something else and come back to it, ninety five percent of the time it works when I come back I can see everything clearer and the brain is at that point in time ready to learn more again, ready for the orange zone.
This maths course was very challenging at times I was thinking, why is my teacher giving so much home work ,but now I can see WHY.
IT was very good for my development, I have learnt a lot ,my teacher was very good, she made sure we all got all the resources we needed and she took time out to put every resource we needed in one place and easy access, In which I thought was very helpful.
For all you maths students out there with maths anxiety,
take my advice, aim for green zone and when you get there do not stay there, go back to red if that is the case than to orange then green again that is were the progression comes .
keep calm and carry on .
